Dreams, Dreams, Dreams. It seems that George and Lennie are'nt the only idealists in the novel. |
Dreams, Dreams, Dreams. That was what chapter 4 was mostly about, as we got to see Crooks, Lennie and Candy all as idealists. The chapter starts of with Crooks and Lennie having a conversation. Lennie begins telling Crooks about the farm him and George dream of owning. Crooks then begins discussing his childhood life on a chicken farm. Candy eventually entered the room and joined the conversation. Candy began talking to Lennie about where and how they can get a farm. Crooks even thought that they could take him along. Now almost everyone knows about the fantasy farm and even insists on joining. They all are now way too into their hopes and dreams to realize the life their facing.
The dreams had soon be ruined by Curley's wife, who tries to join in on the conversation. She tries to talk to the men about her life but the all instruct her to leave. George soon appears and gets angry at Candy for telling others about the farm dream. Once he had left Crooks changes his mind about the farm. The farm dream is still alive even with Crooks leaving. It was a chapter filled with dreams and fantasies. It was a interesting chapter and i hoped you fellow bloggers enjoyed reading, so stay tuned for chapter 5 analysis and keep reading fellow bloggers.
