Chapter 6 Analysis - The Conclusion

"We all have our own life to pursue, our own
kind of dream to be weaving.
And we all have some power to make
wishes come true, as long as we keep believing."

- Louisa May Alcott

            The grand finale is finally here. Here, we will get to see what will happen to Lennie and the rest of them. As we ended of the last chapter we saw Curley and the rest of them searching for Lennie to kill. At the beginning of the chapter we find Lennie in the brushes. George had always instructed Lennie to hide in the brushes if he had gotten into any trouble. George soon arrives at Lennie's aid. Lennie tells George to tell him once again about the rabbits and the farm. While Lennie is listening to the story of the farm George pulls the gun out and shoots Lennie at the back of the head. The rest of the guys show up and Slim and George walk away from the scene.

            Was that the ended you guys wished for? Well it wasn't the ending i had thought of. A man killing his best companion. It may seem as a bad ending to some but an amazing ending to others such as myself. Like i said the ending was a bang. Throughout the novel we saw how George had change from a pure idealist to a pure realist. He had realized Lennie couldn't live in this world anymore and how he may be better without him. George had even killed Lennie in the same way Carlson killed Candy's dog. That event was a parallel to the event that occurred in the end. When Candy said earlier, I shouldn't of let a stranger kill my dog, i should of done it myself, lead to George killing his companion. The dream of a farm with rabbits did not come true but George has truly grown from a idealist to a realist.

              Of Mice and Men was a novel I had enjoyed and taken much interest to. You really get to see how dreams of others impacted these people. Even though many of their dreams did not come true at least some of them came to see the reality of their lives. The novel showed us the difference between idealism and reality. It showed us how a dream without a plan is simply just a wish we can keep hoping for. I had truly enjoyed the story "Of Mice and Men"and I hope you fellow bloggers did too. Now just remember:

"We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind of dream to be weaving. And we all have some power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing."
- Louisa May Alcott

  1. it was a great ending for me. but probably cause this is my guideline for greatness

    cool=great
    guns=cool
    this ending= guns

    since this ending=guns and guns=cool and cool=great, this ending is great
